Humble Geniuses

Yep, we get deep into what we do. And we've had long careers being creative and smart. But we also get deep into you. We'll discover great things together, and have fun doing it.

David Wishart

David Wishart, Co-Flounder & Creative Director

David's responsible for the creative strategy, brand identity, marketing collateral, advertising, and interactive design for a wide variety of organizations, industries and occupations. His sound sense of style, intelligent logic and keen wit delivers work that consistently impresses clients, and stands the test of time.

Before co-flounding freshbait in San Francisco (with Marnie, see below) in 1999, David worked in New York City, first as a Graphic Designer at The Wall Street Journal, redefining their marketing for display advertising. Later, as Art Director for Fox News Online, he completed the first major redesign of their website, setting standards for how consumer news should be presented online.

David was born and raised in Georgia, near Atlanta, has degrees in English Literature and Media Studies, apt skills in Saab mechanics, and near-fluency in French. After 14 years thoroughly digesting the San Francisco Bay area, he's now embracing the unique charms of downtown Los Angeles.

Marnie Aulabaugh

Marnie Aulabaugh, Co-Flounder & Collaborator

Marnie (a co-flounder of freshbait for six years) is a creative director, art director, copywriter, project manager and free-thinker of extraordinary ability. Her career spans 19 years working in design, marketing and related fields with a wide range of clients and industries.

Her career began with The Wall Street Journal, transforming their stodgy marketing department into a world-class enterprise. Then, as Creative Director at Opts Ideas, her skills attracted Fortune 500 clients like Apple, Microsoft, EDS and Washington Mutual. As President of Marnie & Company, Inc., in Los Angeles, recent projects involve seven consecutive years creating the branding and environmental design for LPL Financial; and pitching and winning (with Opts Ideas) the award-winning (EIBTM Global: Best Product Launch) “Heroes Happen Here” campaign for Microsoft Windows Server products.

Richard Forhez

Richard Forhez, Development & Strategy

Richard has provided extensive marketing & communications strategy consulting in a variety of industries, including financial services, travel services, interactive development, cosmetics, and home furnishings. Noted engagements and projects include American Express, PayPal, William Sonoma and Charles Schwab. Currently, Richard is founder and CEO of OptionONE Care at Home, and lends freshbait his skills in business planning, financial modeling, marketing, and strategy.

Richard was raised in a small, middle-class New Jersey town, followed by a bunch of years in Manhattan, two in Germany, and the last dozen in San Francisco. More often impassioned than dissuaded when people say “it can't be done.” He frequently joins David on the hunt for great food in San Francisco...most notably when sushi is on the agenda.

Joel Chambers

Joel Chambers, Finance & Accounting

Joel was Marnie & David's boss when they worked together at The Wall Street Journal, conjuring up clever ways of selling more advertising space. He's been their advisor and counselor since then, and now uses his skills to make sure we use our money wisely. He keeps worker bees, throws slow footballs, drinks strong whisky and provides inspiration for greatness.
